ENCOURAGING BUSINESSES TO BECOME BETTER CONNECTED

Making money is a priority for business, but as is often the case, the devil is in the detail. Generating a good turnover is one thing, yet sustaining a profitable company is quite another.

With many organisations now-a-days, the need to be connected is becoming increasingly important if you are to maintain your position within the market and it’s not just by phone. The internet of things has made us all the more aware of the need for better broadband speeds as we keep in touch with customers and prospects, while also trying to stay one step ahead of our competitors.

Connecting businesses; facilitating introductions

Diva Telecom understands only too well how important it is for businesses to have the necessary infrastructure in place that will allow them to communicate effectively and to share files and content with customers at a speed that is conducive to modern ways of working.

As CityFibre’s launch partner for Gigabit City Leeds last year, the company is embracing all that is positive about an ultrafast broadband service that is accessible, affordable and available to businesses throughout the city region.

Erica Lewis, MD of Diva Telecom, comments:

“Since becoming CityFibre’s launch partner for Gigabit City Leeds last year, we’ve been spending a lot more time getting to know some amazing businesses that are thriving in the region. We’re extremely proud to see how our services – and importantly our ultrafast broadband – have positively impacted upon those companies just a year down the line.”

Taking a more practical approach

Putting the theory into practice, Diva Telecom will sponsor the Social Media on Toast event, which takes place on Monday 9 October from 8am – 10am at Everyman Cinema.

This professional networking session over breakfast will give you the opportunity to listen to industry experts as they provide an insight into the current trends and issues regarding social media and its effects on business.

With a focus on all things social media, SEO and PR, representatives from KC Comms and JRC Agency will come together to share why it’s important to build your personal and professional brand with hints and tips and the importance of keywords, great storytelling, link building, community networks and word of mouth influencer marketing.

This breakfast meeting is a must for those who want to make more of their online communications channels.

No strangers to the YM

As well as being a sponsor for this year’s Social Media on Toast event, Diva Telecom has been involved in previous LBW events, while also showing its support for the Yorkshire Mafia (YM) and the year-round schedule of activities that we facilitate.

As a previous exhibitor at the Buy Yorkshire Conference, the business is familiar with the exposure that a platform like the YM provides for businesses across a range of sectors and is a real champion of the Group.

Managing Director of Diva Telecom, Erica Lewis, comments:

“We’re big fans of the Yorkshire Mafia and their philosophy of championing Yorkshire business. Being a Leeds based business ourselves, we’re actively involved in the local business community so it’s only natural that we would want to be part of an event which is so highly regarded by businesses both locally and further afield.”

Embracing a schedule of events

Whether you will be joining the LBW for the first time or you happen to be regular supporter just like Diva Telecom, what you will always find at any event organised by the YM is an inclusive and supportive business environment where you can meet, learn and share.

With a range of business sessions, many of which are free of charge, running throughout the week we thought we’d give you an insight into just a couple that may spark your interest on the Monday. Starting with breakfast, our highly anticipated Social Media on Toast event will top the bill – but if that isn’t enough for you, why not make a day of it?

From 8.30am – 10am at PwC Central Square is from A.R.S.E to A.C.E – How to become the most productive manager; a session which assures us that you can go from Annoyed, Reactive, Stressed and Exhausted to Attentive, Calm and Effective – we don’t know about you, but we could really do with this!

Next is our debut Women’s Networking Lunch at Tattu from 1pm – 3pm. We are expecting a really strong turn out to this event, so please do make sure you book if you are interested in coming along to meet more women in business from the Leeds city region.

From 1pm – 3pm at The Pit is Pragmatists Guide to Cybersecurity, giving us all a glimpse into the dark world of the internet and how to protect yourself and implement great Cyber Security protection minus the jargon and confusion.

Finally, if after all that you still have the energy, why not come along to the Fun Latin Dance Networking with Sashay Dance from 5.15pm – 6pm. We’re guessing there will be as many guests as there will be giggles, so again, make sure you book your place.

Of course, this is not an exhaustive list, so to find details of all of the events that run throughout the week please visit the LBW website.
